The Voice of Starlight
Summer is coming to a close.
It’s been an emotional month in every sense. As I prepared to sell my house, we lost a dear loved one. She will be missed. May God bless the family she left behind, and may our hearts find healing in her absence.
But as one door closes, another opens. We attended a beautiful wedding last weekend, and it was good to smile again... a ceremony filled with love and hope.
Our move date was moved up to next week, so... no rush… no panic… yeah, right!!! Downsizing from a three‑bedroom house to a one‑bedroom apartment feels monumental, but it’s part of the process. My young man has his own apartment now. Proud mom moment! Between packing, keeping the house show‑ready with Jake’s pawprints, and juggling interviews after my contract ended, I feel like I need to be three people at once.
Selling my comic book collection was bittersweet, but it helps fund the audiobook. A small victory amid the chaos. Painting the house for showings stole a week of writing time, yet somehow, there is progress.
Balancing creative projects during a season of transition reminds me that art doesn’t wait for perfect conditions, it grows through them. Every box packed, every late‑night edit, every quiet prayer becomes part of who I am and how the story evolves.
Recording begins soon! My kickoff meeting is scheduled for August 20, and I can’t wait to share all the studio news in September. It’s surreal hearing the world of Trial by Starlight come alive through voice: every character or dragon, every spell cast, and every bit of magic finding its sound.
