A door closed, a window opened, and I finally found the courage to climb through.

A colorful chair, a signed book, and the moment I realized I was finally living the life I’d been reaching for.
“Before I sign a book, the story belongs to me. Once I sign it, you carry a piece of me with you.”
Some of you may know, or many of you may have heard, that my world turned upside down recently. A door closed that I wasn’t expecting, and while it shook me, it also revealed something I’d been too afraid to reach for. Losing my job forced me to stop, breathe, and finally admit what I’ve wanted for years, to step fully into my author life.
Not halfway. Not “one day.” Now.
Jumping Headfirst Into the Work
Getting downsized gave me the opportunity I’d been scared to take. So I’m doing it. Taking only contract work and writing full‑time, building my world, and trusting that this leap will land somewhere meaningful. This season looks like drafting Book Two of Children of Polaris, pouring energy into sharing Trial by Starlight with new readers, finding the people who love fantasy as much as I do, and maybe even showing up on TikTok Live now and then. It also means navigating the financial shift that comes with choosing art over certainty, but I’m learning to breathe through that part too.
“A new chapter doesn’t wait for permission.”
